How to choose your wheels
Five questions get you most of the way there.
1. What do you ride?
Road, triathlon, gravel, track or MTB. This narrows the range first.
2. Disc or rim brake?
Determined by your frame and fork. Not interchangeable.
3. Rim height
Shallower rims are lighter and more predictable in crosswinds and on climbs. Deeper rims carry speed better on flat and rolling terrain. Many riders land between these extremes.
4. Drivetrain
Pick the matching freehub/body: Shimano HG, Shimano MicroSpline, SRAM XDR, Campagnolo or N3W, and confirm the number of speeds.
5. Tyres
Internal rim width drives which tyre widths work well, and whether you run tubeless.
